World Cup Betting Tips & Predictions

We still have a few matches left of the second set of matches left, but already this World Cup is shaping up to be quite surprising. Teams that we thought would be walking their matches (Argentina and Germany), have been facing a lot of strife. In fact, both teams run the risk of not getting through to the second round of the tournament.

Other teams, such as Russia, who we thought stood no chance of getting anywhere already have two wins in the bag, which means that they are through to the second round. These surprises have made predicting the next lot quite difficult, but we are going to give it a bash.

England v Panama

Can’t look past England for this one. Panama just are not good.

Yeah, Tunisia gave England a run for their money a couple of days, but many of the Tunisian players seem to have been recruited from rugby teams with some of the unpunished tackles that they were putting in. We are hoping that this match goes a little bit smoother.

We reckon that Panama are not going to bang a single goal in here. This should be a safe 2 or 3 goal win for England. This will take them through to the second round.

Belgium v Tunisian

This is the second game in England’s group. Most betting websites are putting Belgium as one of the top 5 favourites to win the whole tournament. We just don’t see it, to be honest. What we do see, however is Belgium winning this match. This would make the England v Belgium match next week a battle for first place.

Germany v Sweden

Germany have not been performing anywhere close to how they should be performing. It is odd, because they should have this World Cup in the bag. We don’t think that they are going to show much improvement here. While we don’t think Sweden are going to win, we do think that they are going to inch out a draw. What does this mean? It means that the third match day for the group is going to leave the group wide open.

South Korean v Mexico

Mexico have this one in the bag. Probably not even worth placing a bet on this match since the odds for Mexico are so good that you will barely see a return on your money. We don’t think that ti is going to be a big win, but it is going to be a win nonetheless.

Japan v Senegal

African countries have really not been doing well in this tournament, with none of them looking to hit the second round. We really don’t think that Senegal are going to save them either. If you bet on Japan, then your money is going to be basically safe.

Uruguay v Russia

These two have already made it out of their group. This means that this is really a battle for first place. We reckon that Russia are going to take this match, even though Uruguay are the far superior team. Why? Because Russia have really surprised us this tournament so far. We genuinely thought that they were going to lose both their matches.

They also have the home support going for them. We never thought that we would ever see Russia going into the second round of a World Cup, since they were the worst team in the tournament going in (other than Saudi Arabia, who they absolutely demolished). Yet, here we are.

Uruguay are just going to take it easy anyway. They know that they are in the second round, so expect them to be resting some of their players or trying out some new tactics.

Iran v Portugal

Easy win for Portugal, which will have them topping their group.

Spain v Morocco

Just a narrow strip of water separates these two countries, but the scoreline certainly is not going to be that narrow. While Spain have essentially qualified for the second round already, with 4 points under their belts, they are going to be giving it everything that they have in this game. We don’t think it will be enough to edge out Portugal from first place, though.

Nigeria v Argentina

This will be an interesting game to watch. Argentina, who were among the favourites for winning the tournament, have been playing worse than your local Sunday League team. Nigeria are basically a Saturday league team compared to them. We actually see Nigeria winning this one, for some reason. Yes, crazy suggestion and the odds don’t agree with us, but let’s wait and see!
