The Sam on the Beach slot is the second time ‘Sam’ has appeared in a game. Regular players of Elk slots will probably remember Electric Sam Slot, one of the most popular games in their range. This version is a massive upgrade.
How to Play Sam on the Beach Slot
This is a five-reel slot machine. There are 243 possible pay lines. The minimum bet is 20p. The maximum bet is £100. The house edge is 3.7%. The slot is medium volatility.
It is fair to say that Elk Studios do not have quite the same amount of resources at their disposal as larger companies would have e.g. NetEnt and the like. Therefore, you could forgive them if their slots did not look as brilliant. We are not going to lie. The design is not as brilliant as it could be but it's on simialr lines to Playtech's Beach Life Slot and also Quickspins' Spinions Beach Party Slot
It is probably going to be a good look for some people out there, but it did not really hook us in. It does have a unique pizzazz to it, so we can’t complain all that much!

Bonus Rounds & In Game Features
There are a few different features to be found in Sam on the Beach Online Slot. These are features that you will find on most other slot machines, so they should not be too difficult to understand:
Wilds: this is just your standard wild. As with other slots, the wild can act as a substitute for any other symbol that pops up (bar scatters and bonus symbols). Very simple stuff.
Scatter: if you get 3 or more scatter symbols on the reels, you will trigger the free spins mode. The number of scatters you get will dictate the number of spins. 3 scatters is 5 free spins. 5 scatters will net you 10. 5 scatters will give 15. We are going to be honest with here here; 5 free spins are not a whole lot at all. That being said, each time you get just one single scatter on the reels, you get an extra free spin. In addition to this, you can also get a ‘wild’ appear on the reels. The wild will add an extra feature:
- Sam: he can convert up to 4 random symbols into wilds.
- Sandra: gives you a random multiplier of between 2x and 10x on your spin.
- Maggie: she fires a harpoon at lower paying symbols. This will cause higher paying symbols to fall in and take their place.
- Ted: will give a multiplier of either 2x and 3x. A multiplier will remain ‘stuck’ in place for the rest of your spins.
The final feature is known as ‘Beach Memory Respin’. A horizontal line with all four of the previous symbols will give a free respin. All of those ‘characters’ will become a wild for that spin!

This game is fun. Seriously. Sure, some of the features that crop up are features which you can find in most other slot machines out there, but this is not a major issue. The game is fun and, bar a couple of design problems, we are confident that you are going to enjoy playing Sam on the Beach.
The main problem with Sam on the Beach Slot is that Elk Studios make it. This is not a major problem with the game. It is great. You know that. We know that.
